by admin on February 28, 2010

this is my first pointe video- constructive criticism is welcome! I know I need to work on getting my ankles stronger… Hopefully I’ll get better over the summer!

i think you need more turn out for your supporting leg and make sure your heels aren’t sickled when you bring them up! but your arches look pretty good :)

um…just roll through more. in my class which is the highest level at my school my teacher has been making us do the simplest stuff just so we will roll through more. and just try to pull up out of your shoes and it will help alotttt:)

tightening your knees, and your glutes helps with this. you also pull up out of your hips. the box of your shoes could also be the reason you are sinking. if they are to wide, then they will not support your feet. i suggest you talk to your instructor about this issue :)

BalletIsLife1 March 15, 2010 at 10:34 am

actually, there are many people who are put on pointe before they are ready. it is a fairly pressing issue at the studio where i dance

ditsygirlify March 15, 2010 at 11:09 pm

strenghten your knees

ladyGemmaofthelake March 18, 2010 at 8:29 am

do you know a way to prevent yourself from sinking into them or do you do the same as pulling up out of your hips coz i am pretty sure i sink into my shoes

GracefulBallerina1 March 21, 2010 at 2:22 am

Very well done, just try to get over your shank more when you relleve, great job

ignore what people say about not ready to go on pointe. You wouldnt be on it otherwise. One word of advice. Dont practice at home. You need the supervision of your teacher in the early stages :)

loveapple27 March 23, 2010 at 3:48 am

when you bourree, your front foot is completely turned in. and when you do the passes, you dont go over, why?? u have beautiful arches! use them!

pringlepoo300 March 23, 2010 at 9:13 pm

i think you have got on pointe at just the right time. i have been to the royal ballet and i was like this when i started, IGNORE THEM SWEETIE :) your fab! x

BalletIsLife1 March 24, 2010 at 1:02 am

pull up out of your shoes. you are really sinking into them. personally, i do not think that you are ready to go on pointe just yet, you need to strengthen your ankles alot more, but keep it up :)

xjaix2kex March 24, 2010 at 6:36 am

fgshyr…just because you ‘have pointes’ doesn’t mean you know how to to use them either…I don’t see you uploading your videos? Shut up until you do.

Keep up the good work dancer12236

FabFrk276 March 26, 2010 at 5:00 am

dancer5616 March 28, 2010 at 7:27 pm

the shoes are pretty what are they?

kateyritchie March 29, 2010 at 12:40 am

it looks like you didnt break the shoe is enough. good though

KcAriaGirl March 31, 2010 at 2:48 pm

why do so many people do pointe without tights!? I am sorry but I dont like it. (Good job tho)

If you wear tights it prevents most of ur sweat from getting in ur toe pads or pointe shoes.

tdsmeg4 April 1, 2010 at 9:28 am

i’m getting my pointe shoes today i hope i start on pointe in 2 weeks

lapetitpanda April 4, 2010 at 12:15 am

rough translation: Try to get up on your points more [on the box/arche your foot more] so straighten out your foot but it with come with time…good luck (or good future dancing more literally)

but yeah, at the begining with the echappés you were really over your points and then less so in fifth. I would say more stretching in terms of turnout. (ps i had to go off point a bit ago beacuase of my tendonities so like, this is just à mon avis)
