She claims to have been dancing for 24+ years…and she’s a teacher of ballet at a studio…
But I find that astounding!
I’m not a professional…in fact I’m a beginner, but that being said, she seems incredibly inexperienced.
If a beginner can tell someone’s not good at ballet….
then it’s pretty sad.
These vids were clearly meant for people who simply want to get a little physical activity into their lives….not to teach ballet as an art…maybe they should mention that in the title.

i agree with angelbaby233, her turnout and feet are awful :S

angelbaby233 March 10, 2010 at 4:22 am

she shouldnt teach this!, her arms, feet and body are sloppy, she has no turn out, no flexibility,
people who want to learn ballet should not learn from someone who cant even do it her self,

meme6004 March 12, 2010 at 5:07 am

You should at least tell them to keep there hips down

that0kat March 14, 2010 at 5:20 pm

wow i applaud her efforts but she should not be teaching this
she has hardly any leg stability or flexibility, her 5th position (if really have the nerve to call it that) is so sloppy and i can go on forever
Its a good very first attempt at ballet but she really should not be making videos to try to teach others
At least she isn’t teaching youtubers how to dance en Pointe …..

Yes, but it doesn’t say ’steps BY beginners’. She perports to be an expert which baffles me.

dawnee82 March 16, 2010 at 8:41 pm

I’m a little disappointed. I’m one of those big balletdancers myself and this kind of gives those prejudiced against us confirmation. Her footwork is sloppy (she doesn’t close properly in 5th position). I agree that for a beginner it’s fine to not throw your legs up that high as we all have to start somewhere & I know skinny dancers that can’t do it at first either.
Yet, this was not very graceful and I do believe you need to show proper techniques before posting a how-to on ballet

katziirocks March 17, 2010 at 5:21 am

sorry! but i think it was very bad.

goldenhotdogg March 17, 2010 at 4:40 pm

If you cannot demonstrate muscle work and positions for ballet clearly, please do not post a video – it’s a serious sport that can cause serious injury if not done correctly and in the safety of a studio.
Your effort is commendable, however.

although, having said that, i have to say two things for her: first, it’s got to be really hard to teach ballet on youtube and do it well. second, she’s not moving the rest of her body; it’s staying very still, which is more than a lot of dancers can say. so cut her a little slack? it does also say “steps for BEGINNERS”

1tink99 March 19, 2010 at 11:34 pm

no she would still suck

nikkipoohpie March 20, 2010 at 1:33 am

well i think she did it fine but i agree on the footwork thing.

anouck86 March 20, 2010 at 12:46 pm

her foot position….I´m sorry but that is one of the first things you have to do right…if this is not working…poor base!

sydneyparra96 March 20, 2010 at 2:38 pm

that was pretty sad

Mikkelnas March 21, 2010 at 3:19 pm

okei… as you said; its grand, the do it GRAND!!!

sydalee9433 March 23, 2010 at 3:05 pm

just point your foot and open your arms more. then it’d be okay

lilidancer5678 March 24, 2010 at 11:27 pm

i really hope youre not a ballet teacher

lilidancer5678 March 25, 2010 at 2:55 pm

um… wtf

hevanoski March 28, 2010 at 1:32 pm

What the eff was that?

rmnfrey March 30, 2010 at 12:28 am

well actually en cloche means like a bell which is jsut front and back, whereas en qua is front side and back like a cross, she sucks.

starsarefallingxx March 31, 2010 at 2:49 am

she should not be on something called EXPERTvillage.

and it is NOT because of her weight, i have danced with people her size and they are much better than this

CurtWild1 April 1, 2010 at 9:10 pm

mmm, seems like she is showing some kind of degagé, not grand battement. And yes, it is messy. And this is NOT because she is fat. I’ve seen lots of ballet students that aren’t precisely skinny, and they have much more grace than many others.

RanitouBonitou April 4, 2010 at 7:40 pm

Nice try, fatty! You made me laugh!
You are magical… You can transform the prettiest of the arts into pure @#$%

Guadalupefan April 6, 2010 at 12:10 am

I was just hoping she could have a decent video but I see I wont find one..
Oh and by the way, being full has nothing to do with bad ballet technique :D There’s ugly skinny dancers too as there are cute full girls :)
